New country

In this video I used a song called "The new country" for a very popular Iraqi singer who is Husam AlRasam, it's not a new song, and it was released when I started blogging.
This song is very popular between Iraqis, I can say that more than 80% of Iraqis have it either on their mobile phones or computers.
There is something strange in this song, whenever I hear it I twitch although I've heard it countless times, believe me in Arabic it's much more effective, because the emotions were lost in translation, but I think the images compensates for that loss.
There is one thing that I want to make it clear, you will notice in the video the name Khansa`, she is a well known Arabic historic character and a poet, her brother died in a battle and she was blind from crying him, then in AlQadesia battle her four sons died too.
I'd like to dedicate this video to all the innocent Iraqis who died for a reason or no reason at all, to all the Iraqis who had to leave their country or home, to all real Iraqis who had to suffer from the situation, for everyone who loves his country, to all the innocent men in the world who died for no mistake they have done and to anyone who cares for the human race.

Note:

Yesterday I received the donations in Baghdad and Today I visited my friend (A.N.) who I collected donations for, his mother is doing good, she's still with bandages and one of her arms is with external fixation , doctors said that she will be fine and there is nothing unstable in her condition, she is so happy that she is still alive to be with her only and beloved son, they were so happy. The donations reached 240$ and I added 60$ and gave it to him, Since he is one of my close friends so I told him that I'm a blogger and this money is from my readers who donated for you and your mom, I felt that made him relieved.I asked him for a photo for him and his mom but he apologized because he was shy and afraid at the same time. On behalf of Ali thank you guys for the donations.

You put a lot of work into making that video, Mohammed. The lyrics to the song are very poetic. Looking at the pictures and the words was very moving. Your country has suffered so much.

Thank you for making this video. I can't tell you how meaningful it is to get a perspective that is much more personal than the mainstream media.

This video is unbearably sad.

Thousands of blameless Iraqi lives destroyed or changed forever, an entire Arab country destroyed, just because Americans voted for criminal lunatics to be their senators, legislators, President.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Blair - to The Hague, to Hell.

Mohammed,

I watched your heartbreaking video last night and the words of the song brought tears to my eyes. I stayed awake all night, I just could not sleep. Iraq, this beautiful ancient land has been destroyed. A country can be rebuilt but all the innocents who have died for the greed of others cannot be returned to their loved ones.
May all those responsible for destroying Iraq and causing so much pain and suffering to millions of Iraqis rot in hell.

Someone is mocking you and posting using your name, Mohammed. Sounds like the racist troll who was on Zeyad and Nabil's blog.

To all, if the name does not link to Mohammed's blogger profile, then it's not Mohammed.

Stop crying, you Westerner sheep.

War has been like this for thousands of years.

It's sad that it took you people this long to look up from your McDonald's, ipods, and mobile phones and type ridiculous phrases like "Oh Mohammed, how poignant, how beautiful, how sad...My heart, as others is bleeding..."

By minding your own business because "Iraq is so far away" and "It's not my fight" and pretending you're "open-minded" by reading Mohammed's website every now and then, you're adding to the problem, not the solution. That makes you a criminal by proxy. Go screw yourselves. Go outside and make a difference. Join the red cross or red crescent. Become a freelance journalist. Raise funds. Research charities.

I will bet a lot of money most of you fit under this label.

I fought in Iraq as a soldier. I am an educated army officer. No, I am not a criminal. I fired my weapon just once, to kill a rabid dog. My vehicle convoys were blown up on 13 different occasions throughout the year. I brought what little happiness I could to the sheikhs and Iraqi families that I got to know, and I made lasting friendships with Yzeddis, Turkomans, and Muslims alike. I'm a Protestant Christian. That fact did not matter.

I hate evil people and when my men found evidence of them, we hunted them down and brought them to trial.

Iraq needs a LEADER to get it out of this mess that EVERYONE is contributing to. Even YOU, Abbey. So grow up!

And to think I've had to give a vow to protect you "liberal and proud of it" clowns internationally. Most of you aren't even worthy to clean the boots of one of my lowest ranking privates. If war offends you so much, quit whining, get out there, and DO SOMETHING for Mohammed and the rest of the good ones, like I did my best to do, for fifteen damn months straight.

Mohammed, the video is amazing. Thanks for sharing it.

I would like to ask you some questions about the situation in Iraq. But after watching the video, it is hard to think about or talk about anything else. Everything else seems so much less important and relevant.

The video is very poignant. Iraq is a land that has seen many cycles of greatness and devastation over 8,000 years. Iraq’s best days are still ahead of her. Iraq’s amazing potential will transcend all its obstacles just as the splendorous light dispels all darkness. Even the sky is no limit to Iraqis, their wisdom enhanced through the churning of concentrated experience and adversity.

Long live Iraq!

Hang tight brothers & sisters of Iraq

in the end we're not so different after all, just different colours n places but still one world, same colour blood when bleed.

The misery is real and not a joke. There are some touches in the video that makes it in the look and feel old fashioned. We will never get back to that history. We respect it as history OK and we keep it in museums OK. However, no one is able to pull the days back. Have you all wondered who made this disaster in Iraq? I hope all dictators like Saddam go to hell. Long live the people.

thank you for sharing your world with us... i pray every single day for your nightmare and the nightmares of so many others around the world to come to an end... war is not the natural order of things, despite what we've been led to believe... can people be deluded into thinking that fighting and killing is the way to achieve their ends...? sadly, yes, but those days can and will soon come to an end, and those who believe that war, death and destruction is an inevitable consequence of the human condition will come to understand how much of a lie that belief really is... that day cannot come soon enough for me...

To the officer...I understand your grief, but remember you were not always like this all your life. To say you are not or have not been ignorant as Abbe, makes you just as guilty as her.

Ask yourself, if you never went to war, never experienced first hand the pains of war, to understand, that through war Peace is never achieved...would you be saying this to Abbe with full conviction.
I know it is not your intent to do this, but you come off as proud you've seen the truth and showing others how ignorant they are. Blameing others for the problems, saying they should do something, but again, who are you to judge?

It bothers me, just like it bothers you, that others can't understand the pain of the victims. That they are of big words but little action. I wish people could automatically feel the pain of others no matter how far apart they are. Maybe that would make war stop and peace a reality. Sadly though, that is not the case...

I want you to know officer. It is not the people that you should blame, or judge, because it is not their fault they dont understand. The world today is being controlled by the few that understand the weaknesses of human kind. They exploit us, and prevent us from reaching our full potential. We feel empathy when we see it, and feel it even more when we've experienced it full hand. Truth be told though, many do not care to empathize because of all the distractions our societies bring us. Out Temptations that blind us from the truth.

Abbe should wake up fully and do something, but then again, so do over 6 billion people on this planet being brainwased by the few.

So please do not judge the people like Abbe, because the act how they were raised to act, and feel what they were "allowed" to feel.
Instead, find out who you should judge. who is the few controlling the many.

If you want to change anything, then you must realize the truth. If you are blind to it, then no matter how hard you may try, you will change nothing.

Again, people like Abbe shouldn't give you anger, or any hate. You have to show others compassion even if they show you none. Even you enemy, because they are your enemy for a reason, so don't be like them...

A big contradiction comes in the phrase, "We must go to war so we can find peace." We must be at peace so we can find peace.

I hope you understood what i had to say. I know you are a good person, and also you Mohammed are a brave person. Something you can show others to be like. It wont be easy because they were taught differently by society's distractions, but through compassion you will change them.

To finish I would like to quote something someone once told me,
"Love is the only Truth,
Everything else is just an Illusion..."

I hope we can all change to find that Truth.

Please don't blame all Americans. We vote our politicians in on their promises to do the will of the pubic and their vows to change politics, but once they're in, they do whatever the hell they want. Do you really think your average junk-food eating, TV watching American really WANTED us to invade Iraq?

I write my Senators and Congressmen until my fingers hurt, but they only tell me what THEY think about certain issues. The problem is, we didn't vote them in to THINK. We voted them in to REPRESENT us. That doesn't happen very often..

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you guys for the nice comments,

Tom in Texas,
That might right, why not!
The awakening movements is doing good till now, Adhamyia is much better now, but the sad truth is only hot zones became better while the rest is still the same.

Steen,
Thank you very much it's 4,300 views now 
Sure I did compile the video; all of it, my name appears in it.

Ali,
You welcome, but what is the text that you want?
The subtitle is the translation for the song!
What text do you mean?

Michael,
Sure I don't blame all the Americans, many are so nice, I blame their administration. I don't blame the people specially the ones against the war

Today is my birthday and reading about the donations total for Mohammed's friend made my day. Thanks to everyone who donated to help this family.

Raffaele, your sentiments are I am sure shared by everyone here. They are “human.”

FYI, the Italians (Carabinieri) are lead within NATO for training Iraqi National Police. The last stage of retraining the INP is called Quick Look III. The Italians expect to complete it within 2 years.

The first two stages, Quick Look I and Quick Look 2, have been complete. That is why all the INP have new uniforms.

Hopefully you Italians will help the Iraqis make the INP the envy of the world. The INP might even pick up the Italian specialty of expressing themselves so effectively with their hands and arms. (I love how Italians express themselves :-) ) The Italians led by Maj Gen Pompegnani are as good as they come. Maj Gen Pompegnani is confident that the INP can overcome their sectarian and other challenges:

no in Adhmayia they are not wearing a uniform, but they are functioning pretty well.

Mohammed,

I hope it is okay for me to ask you a question?

What are your thoughts regarding the Iraqi Army and how much it has improved recently?

I believe that you are west of the River? If so then the 6th IA division controls your battlespace. (East of the river is the forming 11th IA division)

Do you trust the army as nonsectarian and fair to sunni arabs? Do you think the Iraqi Army is ready to assume full security from MND-Baghdad in your neighborhood soon?

The 6th IAD is the oldest and most battle hardened Iraqi division. It fights very well. So my question more relates to how fair the IA is to Sunni Arabs. Do you find it to be well balanced in sectarian composition? The 6th and 11th IADs as a whole reflect Iraq’s diversity, but not every unit within these divisions is equally diverse. So I am really asking about the IA that you come across in your neighborhood.

As an aside, the Iraqi army isn’t nearly large enough yet. It still needs to grow rapidly in size for two more years.

Anand said...

Mohammed, this describes the IA in Baghdad. In case you are interested:
http://www.longwarjournal.org/multimedia/OOBpage7-IGFC-B.pdf

I have found very few Americans or Iraqis interested in this type of information. I am not sure why this is the case.

Shouldn't people be more interested in Iraq's security forces? They will be handling all security in Iraq in the not too distant future. What Iraq makes of itself depends in large part on them.

I can't even imagine what's happening there... I'm not religious, so my prayers won't help you much, nor my condolences or sadness because I'm not directly affected by anything that happens in Iraq...
I'm becoming a journalist soon though, and swear I'll try to make my insignificant effort worthable.
I don't think I'm currently educated enough on Iraq's situation to talk further, so I'll end my comment here, wishing that you and yours can find peace someday.
